Welcome to Troop 776!

Troop 776 is located in Encinitas and meets at St. John the Evangelist Church on Encinitas Blvd. Our Scouts reside in the surrounding communities of Encinitas, Leucadia, Cardiff, Carlsbad, Olivenhain and San Marcos.

If you are looking for a troop to join, please visit us during any of our  regular troop meeting times or contact us for more information. Click on the Boy Scout Parent Handbook attachment (below) for an overview of our Troop. 

 

Our troop meets on Monday evenings during the 2015-16 school year. Starting in Sep 2016, we will move our weekly Troop Meeting Nights to Tuesday evening at 7pm. For now, here is our normal Monday night monthly meeting schedule:

1st Monday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM), Committee Meeting (7PM)
2nd Monday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting(7PM)
3rd Monday of the month: Regular Troop Meeting (7PM), Board of Review (BOR)(7PM)
4th Monday of the month: Patrol Leader's Council Meeting (7PM), Scoutmaster Meeting (6PM)

 

If there is a 5th Monday in a month, the troop does not meet that day.

St. John Fiesta, SAVE THE DATES - Aug 6-7 - Mandatory Participation!

St. John sponsor's our Troop and this annual Fiesta event is St. John's special event. This is a mandatory event so come help to show support. Scouts typically man the game booths and take out trash and recyclables. Lunch tickets will be provided so each scout can get a meal after his shift.  DO NOT pick these dates (Aug 6-7)  to work on an Eagle Project or other community  service!

Saturday, Aug 6 will have shifts from 4pm - 10pm

Sunday, Aug 7 will have shifts all day.

Scouts that attend Camp Fiesta Island are to sign up for Aug 7 shift regardless of when their Patrol signs up.

Sign ups will be posted to the troop website in late June.

Family Life Merit Badge Sign-offs

Need requirements approved or signed off for Family Life Merit Badge?, Mrs. Magnuson will be available 4/26 at Scout Trailer starting at 6:45PM(before PLC meeting). Please bring your Merit badge worksheet with appropriate information. Remember Family LIfe Merit Badge has some specific requirements that have to be proposed and approved before actually completed. If you prefer to make an appointment for another time, please do not hesitate to ask.

Court of Honor Monday 5/23

 Please Mark your Calendars COH 5/23 (Monday before Memorial Day)!

The last COH of this School year will be Monday 5/23 from 7-8PM (location to be determined). Awards will include Rank Advancements achieved by 5/16 and Merit Badges earned through 5/9. It is a busy time of year but please plan to help recognize our busy scouts' accomplishments. More details to come.

Blue Card Deadline 5/9

Got Blue Cards?

Don't procrastinate! It is time to get your completed blue cards submitted before the last BOR of the school year. Merit badge awards for all blue cards submitted to Mrs. Magnuson no later than 5/9 Scout Meeting will be awarded at 5/23 COH (any blue cards submitted after 5/9 will be awarded at Fall COH). Rank advancements achieved by the 5/16 BOR will also be awarded at the 5/23 COH (Parents mark your calendars). Please submit them this school year so they don't get misplaced over the summer (be sure to keep a copy or photo of your blue card).
